Details of the scene:
Our drama is called "Red Thread" and it will be aired from April 2009 onwards. The scene that we will be filming on 29th Dec is an engagement scene (between Adrian Pang & Celest Chong's characters) on board a Yacht at the club at Sentosa. The 4 of your members will be violin players in the setting.

Here are more details:
Date: 29 Dec (Mon)
Reporting time: 0730am sharp at Mediacorp (Filming will be whole day for us but we should be able to release 4 of you by lunchtime around 2pm)
Pls bring your student pass / IC to exchange for our visitor's pass in.
Pls enter thru our RadioGate instead of Reception and call me at 91799217 once you arrive.
You will need to exchange for visitors' pass from the security post and tell him that you are "Red Thread"'s Extras. This is becoz this is the most convenient way for you to enter or else Reception is much further away.

Pls bring along your violin, and your all black outfit which you guys usually wear for performances. Ladies please wear black long dress. I've also asked my wardrobe to prepare standby black outfits for you just in case.

Standby 1 music piece which alll 4 of you knows (just a simple one would do)

The remuneration will be $50 per person.
We will let you sign a payment voucher on the day and we will mail the cheque to you.

Kindly provide the full names, IC number, and contact number for all 4 people so that I can submit to the location's security before this Sunday.

I just recevied a call from someone working in mediacorp. They require 4 violinist in one of their scene, I guess. 2 guys and 2 girls. They need it on the 29th of December at 7.30am at MediaCorp. It is ok if you cant play well as they say there is no need for you to play. They will be providing the music while you just pretend to play. And of course, YOU WILL BE PAID! $50 per pax. SPRING CLEAN!

HELLO PEEPS!

We are going to have a Spring Cleaning of our clubhouse on this Saturday, just before FC rehearsals, christmas, parties and Family Concert so that we can enjoy our remaining days in the clubhouse before we move! (sobsob) ANYWAYS, ALL ARE WELCOME TO HELP OUT OK. Just come in the morning to help to clear some rubbish and tidy up the cabinets and all. Otherwise, it will just be me alone :( AND FOR THOSE WHO ARE NOT COMING! Please do not dirty or mess up our beloved clubhouse after we cleaned it up ok, sdar will be coming to have a clubhouse inspection on the 23rd(our rehearsal date) to see if we are ready to move over or something. so please co-operate! just make your presence there if you want to help, this is not a cumpulsory thing, no cca points and no out of the club warning, just purely cleaning up our lil space we call our own! Librarians(old and new) and quartermasters(old and new) should be there as well. (if you get what i mean, should.:p)

So if you are coming, i will be there at 10am in the morning and hopefully we can all clear it up before the Saturday Strings practice ends, or even starts. Thanks alot! Spread the words please~!

strings quartet

we are in the progress of forming a strings quartet group
which will be focusing for performance in school.

strings quartet group should consists of 3 violinists and 1 cellist.
we will be fair and will be holding an audition for interested players
in NP strings.

this group of members will continue to be as a member of NP strings and
the quartet group practice will not affect the normal practice times.
this is just a small group of members being taken out to focus for performing on stage
whenever we are being invited to perform.

it is perfectly alright if your violin/cello skills aren't up
to standard. instructor will teach from the very beginning as long as you have the passion
for it.

HELLO :)

It's been a great night yesterday. CHEERS TO NPSTRINGS! I would like to thank many of the people who has helped npstrings along the way through Virtuoso.

Virtuoso XV has come a long long way. The planning and everything comes at the start of the year. It seems like just yesterday that i've submitted the proposal of having Virtuoso, and that the fact is Virtuoso is over yesterday already!

Thanks to all performers who've performed! What is a performance with organizing committee but no performers? You all have done a great job! and that everyone of you is the pride of Npstrings and I am proud of you! :)

Thanks to the vice president of virtuoso comm and the club president, Annabel. She's been really busy with her attachment but she is still able to commit to the club and the concert. :)

To the Instructors, the CIs for their hard work. The coordinators for a hard job coordinating movement and attendance. The librarians for all the wonderful pieces. The Backstage for all the logistics and behind the scenes. The backstage crew who has really been lovely and helpful throughout the concert. The Ushers for the frontline crew for having such good disposition. The welfare, ticketing and publicity officers for making the Virtuoso into such great concert. The Band and guest players for their help. The alumni players performing with us. The alumni watching us. The members for pushing the ticket sales and that we achieved more than 70% of the audience. To every single one of us who has helped in making this concert an enjoyable one.

And finally thankyou to Shirley who has written thanks to all these people.

I know that its been quite an emotional ride with Virtuoso harping. I might not be that experienced or wonderful as an organizer, but all of you are certainly great performers with a big personality. thankyou all for cooperating with me or at some times tolerating me and some of my craps all these while. There might not be a long time i've spent with you all but it's certainly fantastic.

All in all, thankyou for making Virtuoso XV a HUGE SUCCESSSSSSS.

Hi all.

We will be resuming practice once all your exams end. which is going to be next monday all the way to saturday. As you all know, the concert is on the 30th August which is going to be next Saturday and we still have a long long way to go. All performers are to be in the music room on Monday 2pm and I will talk to all of you about the details of the Virtuoso Day itself as well as all the practices that is going to take place.

I hope every performers would turn up that day as it would be ultra important. Please make your first week of the holidays free just for Virtuoso. After Virtuoso, I promise you all for your deserving break. :)

Also, please be prepared to stay in school till late. Its the last stretch already, give in your best! Its our concert!

For members who do not have tickets to sell, please approach me or anybody in the Virtuoso Comm, they will issue you a booklet of tickets. For whoever that s holding on to the ticket booklets, please return all to me and Caroline on the 28th August Thursday with the money and the booklet cover.

Please spread the message around to your friends and people you know. Also, please cooperate with my coordinators on your presence to practices and so, reply to them or what. Its left with less than 2 weeks and I hope we can all pull through as NPSTRINGS TOGETHER! GO GO GO!

If you are very very excited about your new guitar, you can come and go to the club hse and try your luck on tuesday or wednesday after 4pm. If you are moderately excited and dun mind waiting, I would strongly suggest you to come on either thursday or friday between 4-7pm. The seniors will be around on these two days. Any other timings, please contact your instructor and they will help you find out who will be able to serve you at your requested timing. but no guarantees and promises will be made.

Now that Virtuoso details are confirm, let's all work hard towards this goal and make ourselves proud!

However, as hard as we might already be practicing for the night, there are some of you who are not attending the practices regularly, you know who you are. All practices are compulsory and attendance will be recorded. Even seniors, you do not have the privilege to skip the practices and still perform together with people that are working hard towards Virtuoso.

If there are any situations that you are not able to make it for the Virtuoso practices, please do inform the Virtuoso Coordinators, or your CI or the Main Comm Coordinators and we see what we can work it out.

I will be going around to practices when practices have resumed whichever date it might be. and I hope to see all performers on my list of performers are there.

Alright, to many speculations and rumors or hearsay you've heard about the VIRTUOSO XV is now to be cleared!

Along to celebrate this good news, there's an upcoming V camp (Virtuoso preparation camp) for rehearsals, briefing and bonding of the performers specially for the Virtuoso Concert. The V camp is on the 12,13,14 June 2008, which happen to fall on the first week of the holidays. However, there might be stances where we might not have the overnight camp (it depends sometimes because it's quite a last minute thing), please still come on the 12June2008 for briefing of the Virtuoso. It is essential and compulsory for all performers. More details of the V camp will be posted up on this blog after the Common Tests.

Please do contact the Virtuoso Coordinator Charmaine(Guitar) or Jojo (Strings) for any clarifications or doubts, but please be nice to them :D

In view that many people have been commenting that they have not enough time to prepare for the auditions. After our intense discussion, the Virt. Comm has decided to postpone the auditions to 29March2008. Which gives everyone who is interested exactly one month to prepare. Please do join the auditions :d

Venue : *LT26
Time : *1pm

strings side and niibori practice on that day will be replaced by the auditions, which make it compulsory for all members to attend lah. non-niibori players are to attend too. If the audition ends early, we can resume our practices, if not we can practice earlier.

Please inform either shirley, annabel or weisheng for the details of your group members and your songs you are auditioning. xie xie ni men.

Virtuoso Auditions

Dear NP Strings Peeps,

We are more than happy to inform you that there will be an upcoming audition held for Virtuoso ’08. Be it you are coming for solos or in small groups (duets or trio or quartet and so on); all are very welcome to participate! The audition will take place on the 11 March 2008 (Tuesday) at Lt 26, from 4p.m. to 6p.m. The audition is open to all NP Strings Club members only. Hidden talents among your peers? Encourage them to join! Have interest in playing for Virtuoso? Join this audition! Interested participants could approach Wei Sheng or Zi Ning for the application form.

strings side practice resume once again on thursday 28th feb and then on saturday..all practices are at their usual time...tell me if any of you can't make it and the reason for such...thanks!

regarding the audition for Virtuoso XV,

i've heard many feedbacks that some of you guys do not know what the audition is about and are scared/ worried about it..

if you want to make a special performance during the Virtuoso XV night or jus want to showcase your talents and make it known to the world kind of thing....and you think you ahve the ability to...

this is when u come down on the 11th of march...and show to the judges what've got and what you are really made of... depending on the time limit and how many performances we allow, we will then choose the top few performances... =)=)=) you GET IT NOW???!?! =)

ALL CURRENT members whether you are from guitar side, OR strings side....whether freshies, intermediates, seniors, advance beginners, beginners.. ALL come ok... please help me by informing either me or dal if you guys can make it..it is considered compulsory.. CCA points are given.. refreshments provided..drinks..i think you guys go get water cooler water and drink..no water bottles provided..

anyway..this AGM is another bonding session..i hope all of you talk to each other. this AGM is the official handover of the previous committee... so be nice to me and the other people in the new comm, and the previous comm and come for this AGM..

we'll also talk about the details of the virtuoso..and the cycle of magical tickets go around once again.

the AGM should not take more than two hours.. and i hope everyone will know each other better after this short session.

For Casilda's violin class, the final practice date is 8th of January (Tuesday). For Timothy's violin class, the final practice date is 10th of January (Thursday). PLEASE come for the final practice to be prepared for the evaluation and ALL THE BEST!!!!

Strings Practice

Hey people.....

school is on once more..practices for the strings side will start this week..after so many days of rest.i guess you guys are all rusty and stuff..

So..start coming for practices...use the sandpapers in school to smooth u guys out..and let us all have fellowship with one another too..yea?

practices for the seniors and intermediates will start this thursday and saturday..time for practices are the same. 6.30pm and 12.30pm respectively..though some of you guys maybe more skilled at your own instruments than the others..

it is always very ENCOURAGING when you guys come down and help those who are not as good..and share your knowledge.

yup yup... as for the beginners..your practices will start as and when your instructors tell u so...and prepare hard for your evaluation..yea????
