NUS Guitar Ensemble (GENUS) is proud to present GENUS 2010: Asian Folktales and Legends, a part of Asia Alive, NUS Arts Festival 2010.

This year, GENUS and collaborating artists, NUS Choir and NUS Wind Symphony, go on a journey to explore the different facets of Asia with a potpourri of songs representing Asia’s musical diversity and cultural fusion.

This is an exciting opportunity for you to rediscover familiar Asian songs as we promise a whole new concert experience, for all guitar aficionados and amateur players alike, involving everything from new arrangements of familiar traditional folksongs to catchy tunes from Asia’s popular culture.

Time: 8pm

There will be a pre show talk by our music director and conductor, Dr Robert Casteels, at 7pm. We have enclosed a copy of the poster for your reference.

Tickets are priced at $12 each (excluding $1 SISTIC Fee) and is now available at all SISTIC counters. 20% discount is extended for every 20 tickets purchased. For lesser ticket order, i.e. 10 tickets, 1 complimentary ticket will be given.

Hi Everybody from both Strings and Guitars!

We will be having both our BIG BIG exams and CHINESE NEW YEAR holidays during February!
Practices are stopped for you guys to prepare for your "Big Days".

Practices will be stopped, starting from the week (7th - 13th February) to 28th February.
Please note that there is an extra week of holidays since people don't study during chinese new year!
So, take the one extra week to study for ur exams and score good grades!

All practices will be resumed on the week (starting on 1st March).
By then, we will have to start preparing for NPS's BIG DAY, VIRTUOSO the 16th/17th (i might lost count though).

Hi everyone.
Please ignore the previous post

Looking at the timeslots we have for this upcoming holidays.
24th & 26th AND 31st & 2nd both fall on thursday and saturday respectively.
Thus, practice will be cancelled. I dont think you would like to come down for practice on a holiday eve and a post holiday day.

In summary, there will be NO cca for this holiday UNTIL schold reopens on the 4th of Jan.

Hi Guys,

Now that music camp is over, we really have to Push all our pieces.
The timings and performance during the rehearsal of music camp was very bad.
We have 1 week more to FC.
Get all your family and friends to see you perform.ITS FREE!

Another thing is that without valid reason for the absences of music camp will be taken as
quitting of the club for guitarist. However please get back to me if you really want to continue in this
club though you didnt attend music camp.

We will be having our annual internal concert on this 31st October 2009.
The concert will be absolutely free!

We will be performing a wide genres of songs, from classical to hard metal pieces.
The concert will be absolutely suitable for you and your family/friends.
Soothing songs like the famous Pink Panther will be more than suitable for little toodlers, while metalic songs like Hotel California will be addictive for rock and heavy metal fans.
